The 2022 Andorran 1.25 euro coins continue the unique series launched in 2021 and include two coins with separate designs that reflect Andorra's natural and cultural heritage.
The first coin:
Dedicated to the red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris), common in Europe and Asia.
The coin depicts a squirrel and the inscription "ESQUIROL" in Catalan.
The second coin:
Dedicated to the Church of St. John (Església de Sant Joan de Caselles) in Canillo, a cultural heritage site of Andorra. The temple was built in the 11th-12th centuries.
The coin depicts a view of the church and the name "SANT JOAN DE CASELLES".
General characteristics:
The reverse of both coins depicts a tree branch, the country name "ANDORRA", the denomination "1.25 EURO" and the year of issue "2022".
The coins are made of copper-nickel alloy.
The diameter of each coin is 34 mm, and the weight is 17.7 grams.
The mintage of the coins is 1,500 copies.
