The reverse of the coin features the head of a skier wearing a helmet with the number 1 embossed on it, symbolizing first place. The word Weltmeister (World Champion) is reflected in the skier's goggles - the goal that every competitive athlete strives for. The skier's face is represented solely by the outline of the coin, with snow crystals in the background completing the design. The obverse of the coin features the coats of arms of Austria's nine federal states, as do all Austrian 5-euro coins.
