Historical background:
On November 11, 1918, Emperor Charles I abdicated the throne. The following day, November 12, the Republic of German Austria was proclaimed. In 1919, the state was renamed the "Republic of Austria".
The parliament building depicted on the coin was built between 1874 and 1883 and served as the meeting place of the Chamber of Deputies of Austria-Hungary until 1918.
