Andorra issued a 2-euro commemorative coin in 2022 dedicated to Charlemagne. The coin marks the 1,275th anniversary of the birth of the emperor, who was born in 747 and became King of the Franks at the age of 21, then Holy Roman Emperor in 800. Charlemagne is considered one of the most important rulers of Western Europe, known for his role in unifying the region, which foreshadowed the creation of the modern European Union.
The obverse features a portrait of Charlemagne, the year of issue - 2022, and the name of the country "Andorra"13.
The coin is made of bi-metal, where the central part is nickel-brass-plated nickel, and the ring is copper-nickel alloy
The coin is presented in a luxurious numbered plastic blister.
