A special 2 euro coin from Andorra, issued in 2018, is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Constitution of Andorra. The Constitution, adopted by referendum on 14 March 1993, came into force on 28 April of the same year. It was signed by the two co-princes of Andorra: the President of France François Mitterrand and the Bishop of Urgell Joan Martí Alanis. The Constitution of Andorra is the supreme law of the Principality and establishes it as a democratic and social constitutional state. Article 1 explicitly states that the heads of state are the President of France and the Bishop of Urgell. The obverse of the coin depicts a monument to the men and women who campaigned for the adoption of the Constitution. The monument symbolizes the Parliament of Andorra and includes silhouettes of a man and a woman. Next to it is an image of Andorra with the text "VIRTVS VNITA FORTOR" (which translates as "United Virtue is Stronger"), which is the country's motto. The years 1993 and 2018 are also indicated on the coin, and on the left is the name of the country "Andorra" and the text "25th Aniversari de la Constitucio" (25th Anniversary of the Constitution)
